We moved into our first home 2 years ago and before we had even gotten settled Kieran came over (in the middle of February) and asked us if he could mow our lawn for us come spring.  It was the sweetest gesture; my husband and I will never forget that!  Although all of our neighbors live crazy, busy lives, I feel like I have gotten to know Kieran’s family the best.  They have been the very inviting and kind as long as we have lived here.  Aimee, Kieran’s mom is always leaving plants at the end of our driveway and it has definitely helped to make our house feel more like a home.

When our neighbors asked me to take pictures for Kieran I felt extremely honored.  They didn’t want anything extravagant, just a few pictures of their grown up son being himself.  I have never talked with Kieran one on one, but getting to know was wonderful.  I knew he was a good kid, his parents always say how great he is, but what parent doesn’t talk their kids up?  After getting to know him for a couple hours, I realized on my own that he really was terrific young man.  He said to me during our session that some day he would love to be just like his dad (talk about melting your heart).  Chris and I both know, no matter what school you end up choosing to go to, you will go far.  We wish you the best of luck and it was so great getting to know you more!

Weddings illuminate the magic, happiness and unconditional love between two people; Chelsey and Bill are no exception.  Their nuptials were fated when they met for the first time at a friends birthday.  Their first date was a trip to the Minnesota State Fair…….the first food shared, a taco.  Conversations that lasted for hours upon hours have since led to years of love, laughter, and friendship.

It’s her unconditional love towards him; the smile and warmth she brings to a room that makes him swoon.  It’s his charm, strong character and good sense of humor that makes her fall deeper and deeper in love with him every day.

Chelsey and Bill’s wedding day was beautiful, sunny, and HOT!  As she walked down the aisle to marry her best friend, you could tell from her gaze he was the only one in the room.  Anyone who has walked an aisle knows how difficult it is to maintain focus but her love for him and his love for her bound their stare.  After the wedding it was time to celebrate, relax and let loose!  The bridal party was so outgoing and charismatic that there was never a dull moment.  You could tell by how many people stayed to dance the night away that this couple was surrounded by many people who love them deeply.

Chelsey and Bill, thank you for letting me a part of one of the most important days of your life.  To entrust me to capture such a big memory is truly and honor, you both are absolutely amazing.  Here is to many more years of not only being your photographer, but also being your friend.

“Always remember…You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, smarter than you think, and LOVED more than you ever will know.”

This quote is truer than true.  Last weekend we celebrated a new life that will be joining us in a few short months.  My sister-in-law and brother-in-law, threw a beautiful gender reveal party for their new bundle of joy that will be joining us in early January.  The entire family was so thrilled to find out what baby McCarthy would be!  Was it a little he or a little she?  We soon would see!

Of course I wanted to capture this momentous occasion for two people who have been huge supporters of me throughout the last few years.  Their future little prince or princess will no doubt get his or her humor, wittiness, and determination from dad and his or her caring nature and thoughtfulness from mom.  No doubt that baby McCarthy will be born surrounded by many people that love him or her already.

Blue or Pink?  What do you think?!

“No one else will ever know the strength of LOVE for you.  After all, you’re the only one who knows what my HEART sounds like from ….

the inside.”

Congratulations Ashley & Brendan!  I am so excited to meet you precious little baby girl soon!

To say this wedding meant a lot to me is an understatement.  Kim and Rick were the first couple that put their faith in me to capture one of the most important days of their lives.  When I first met them a year ago, we went to my favorite neighborhood, at my favorite little place, the Cottagewood General Store.  It was love at first sight, to say the least (and I’m not talking about their love, which is ridiculously cute).  There were so many similarities between people we knew, colleges we attended, adorable little General Stores we loved, areas we grew up in, the list could go on and on.

Kim and Rick met at work, fell in love and have been inseparable ever since.  Rick is one of the most sincere, sweet, kind, and adoring husbands I’ve ever met.  His love for Kim is unconditional, and it shows in the way he looks at her, cares for her, makes sure she is happy, and always puts her first.  Kim is confident, inspiring, independent and beautiful.  She has a heart of gold, and you can just see the comfort that overcomes her when she is by Rick’s side.

August 16, 2013, was a beautiful Minnesota summer day.   The bridal party was beautiful, the venue was beautiful, and the couple was beautiful. Kim and Rick, I cannot express my sincere gratitude for being the first couple to have faith in me.  You will never know what that means to me.  It was an absolute honor to capture your big day.  I pray others see the love you two share and seek that love for themselves.  I’ve never seen two people who truly, deeply care for one another like you two do (except maybe in a movie, like the Notebook :)) I have no doubt the love you two share for one another will resound with those around you.  Thank you for letting me be such a big part of such a special day.

Congratulations Mr. & Mrs. Rittmaster!

  • Cassandra Evans - These pictures are phenomenal. Seriously. Being in the wedding industry, I see a LOT of wedding photography. It takes a lot for me to be truly moved by it, but these photos did just that. And I may be a little biased, as I know the couple, and did the wedding desserts. But nonetheless, you have a real gift. My husband is also a wedding videographer, and a lot of our good friends are wedding photographers (I think it’s the nature of the industry.) So believe me when I say, you did an incredible job capturing the day!!ReplyCancel

Isla is the spunkiest, cutest, most lovable little girl ever!  I’m not just saying that because  her mother is the one who keeps my locks looking fabulous (and my eyebrows, which I am WAY over due!)  She has so much sassiness and I absolutely love it!  Her latest thing is, she likes to bite her fingers when she gets frustrated (happened several times during our photo shoot) but you could never tell from these adorable photos!  So full of color and life and her mom’s style isn’t bad either.  Here is a look at little, baby girl Isla’s, big photo shoot!
