“Where there is great Love, there are always Miracles.”

~Willa Cather

I met Ruby’s mom Lauren, about 7 months ago when I worked at Tranquility Dental.  She came in to talk to us about the Make-A-Wish foundation of Minnesota and the Walk for Wishes that was coming up in June of 2012.   Lauren had been working for Make-A-Wish of Minnesota close to a year.  When we met she was about 19 weeks pregnant and had just found out that she was having a baby girl!  The entire office of Tranquility quickly bonded with Lauren, not only because she brought us treats, but because you could tell her love for the foundation was so strong, as was her heart for children.  So the Walk for Wishes Day came and Lauren, who was excited to see the office in their Tooth Fairy tutu’s was not there.  We quickly discovered she had had baby Ruby,  4 months too early.  On July 4, 2012, baby Ruby was born at 1lb 6oz.   The birth of Ruby Love had flipped Lauren and her husband Travis’ world upside down.  Not knowing if Ruby would survive all anyone could do was pray.  Remarkably, three and a half months later, Ruby is still holding on strong thanks to the prayers and amazing Doctors at The Children’s Hospital.  I was able to meet baby Ruby for the first time when she was 3lbs.  It was at that time I was able to see where her strength came from, her mom and dad.

Ruby’s parents are fighters, just like her.  Their love towards one another is magical.  They have the most positive outlook on life.   You just want to be best friends when you meet them, at least I did.   You can see they are staying strong for their baby girl, who isn’t out of the woods yet, but is well on her way.   It is unfathomable how someone so small can change so many lives.  That is why, this year with help  from Christmas LTD and The Commons Workplace on November 17, 2012, I will be taking Christmas photos for anyone who wants.  My only request is when you come for your Christmas photo, you make a Christmas donation to either help pay for Ruby’s medical bills which exceed $10,000 or donate to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.  More detail will be available November 17th when I see you at your photo session! :)

Also, Thank You for all the great feedback on Facebook!
